A buddy of mine has a mid 80's 340 rv twin. He tried to fire it up and no luck. I took a look at it today. I new the carb would be filthy witch it was so I cleaned it out, it has good compression. After a few pulls it kicked and will do so every time now. but it will not run. I then checked for spark and they were both strong, but when I pulled the right plug out it was milky. Could this just be condensation from over the years? I then checked the coolant and it is very low. could this be the problem? Is there a way to figure this out without pulling the motor apart?
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

If you have spark and it fires once in a while, I'd say it's a fuel problem. Have you tried fresh fuel and plugs?. I would spray a little fuel down the carb throats and try it again.

My friend had the same problem with an old sled.

I cleaned the carbs and replaced the fuel. Started right up after and ran like a charm.

I also pulled the fuel tank, drained it and put new fuel in. I did it at the same time as the carb. Sorry i forgot to mention that. Thats why though it was odd that only the one cyl had something milky in it. Suggestions and opinions would be great.
