I'm going to stud my sled tonight and need to remove to rear snow flap. I didn't have time to look real close this morning before I left for work but it looks like this thing is riveted to the tunnel. Is this true? What do ya think.... drill em' out and replace with stainless bolts? Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drill them out the best you can and pop them off.
To put it back on either re-rivet or bolting it on would work as well. Definatly use stainless hardware and use a nylon nut so it doesn't vibrate off.

I did this last year when I replaced my snow flap. I used stainless nuts, bolts and washers. Took a look at it last week. Looks great and still holding.

I don't know why everyone says to take off the flap. Just did mine and my wifes three weeks ago. Didn't remove either flap. Yeah, it got in the way a little but for the headache of drilling out the rivets and putting on new ones, I'd leave it on. Just get the back end up in the air a little higher. IMO

I just removed mine because the old one got wrapped up in the studs a couple of times. For studding, I would have to agree, I think you could just leave it on.

I dropped the suspension down when I did mine, took the back two bolts out. Made it easy to work on with lots of room.

Don't you have to put tunnel protectors in? That is why I took mine off, but that is a skidoo.

the cooler acts as a tunnel protector on a polaris.

I use a bungee cord and flip the flap up and tie it up to the bumper. I have studded dozens of tracks and this works every time. It's easier to stud if you can elevate the ### end.
I have done it both ways but the last time I did an sled I just put the sled on the side works great is is fast. My dealer said that is the way they do it. Make sure u lay a blanket down so you dont scratch the hood.
