Have removed the secondary for cleaning, its my first time....Got the thing apart and cleaned...Dont know how to get it back together with the corrct preload...

I ahve a 2000 mxz700, i beleive the spring sat in c6 or b6, only thing, when I set it there, it is as if there is no preload...

Please help

1st, verify the spring settings. When you set the cam (helix) in place you need to twist the moveable sheave CCW about a 1/4 turn. If you look at the angled ramps of the cam they are not in line with the shoes as dropped in. I read on another forum that there are holes above the shoes for reference and it`s true. I just did mine Fri. (for the zillionth time this season&#33http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. You really should check the preload instead of refering to the letter/number. A fish scale, welders clamp,and a piece of vinyl to protect the face of the pulley are all you need. Check the tension with the scale right at the outer diameter of the moveable. Pull pressure + release pressure then divide by 2. Good luck, hope this helps.
