hey guys,
i bought a new panters, and am wondering if i sould stud it? i run trails, but do run lakes about 40% of the time. the only other sled i have ever driven is my polaris indy classic, witch i bought studded.
if so, how many, the type of stud to use, and where? when should i stud it, ( its new, 0 miles on it)
i am still new to the sport, so i am reading on this sight every day, and learning as fast as i can.
by the way, its a 600.
thanks for the replys on a beginners questions

Yes I would stud it if I were you. I believe with the longer track 102 studs down the center would work fine. IMO it doesn't matter when you stud it, you can do it now or wait, its up to you. Get studs with a carbide tip, they last much longer then just the plain steel ones.

My dads got a pantera 800, and it has just about 0" lugs on the track. its definatly got WAY more hp than he can get to the ground. If i was you, i would ride it for a trip or two, and decided if you need them or not... 102 up the middle is a good idea.

108 down the center... woody gold digger (traction masters) work just great... ia hve over 600 miles on mine with alot of raod riding and no problem... they are a dream when you hit a bare spot on a lake or hit some icy roads... I swear by them... worth every penny.... heres a pic

it seems like studding is the way to go.
I take it i can buy a template at my dealer for the studs?
looks like 108 down the middle using carbine tip studs. i take it traction master studs are carbine tiped?
thanks for the reply's guys!

Yes the 108 pattern should work good. I just bought my 03 and put the 108 down the middle. I just did it for safety I have other sleds if I want acceleration with more studs in them, Kevin
