I was just wondering how many others have a sled that is made up of parts from many others. Kind of like a hot rod of the sled world.

My old 91 Plus has evolved from a stock 91 521 Formula Plus to a sled we call Frankendoo.

She rides great, handles well and goes like stink.

It is a 91 chassis and engine,

98 FZ plastic/steel ski's,

92 red striped seat,

96 Mach C7 Skid with HPG's and knob adjustable limiters, Rebuilt and tweaked.

9? driven clutch. Fella told me but I forget.

93 Mach 1 bars. (has parking brake now and thumb warmers)

93 M1 brake disc and jackshaft. ( old ones keyway was worn and the 93 fit)

.2000-1 Polaris XC SP .910 staggered track . (thanks to a drunk driver sled total loss at 500 or so miles - only track survived)

Idlers from various sleds.

New style throttle cable and oil pump lever assy to run heavy doo cable.

I don't know why but I like improving it. It gives me a hot rod for the winter.

My Poo is all correct for the year, EPI clutch kit and accessories but the doo, is a custom for sure. It is mostly parts from wrecks with the exception of the original sled. It's been allot of fun modifying along the way. Toughest was the skid and making up new mounts from random parts.

It's in my blood. 69 Ford in the background was 302 auto on the column, now sports 351 W and a 4 gear.

Here's Frankendoo in surgery.

The surgeon is setting up the new throttle assembly.

Oddly she has only 3400 km's on it and is in great shape.

Sounds like a Johnny Cash song. It must be real fun trying to remember what year the part is that you need to order. w00t

man that is something else,,,,I once read in a mag about a sled in PA that was like that,,,,bunch of old cats put together,,,,he used to carry ammo boxes loaded with parts right on the back like saddle bags,,,,just in case. if I remember right, the exhaust came out of the hood and up like a big rig and the headlight was somthing different also,,,,

He was proud of that thing!!!

My brothers friend has a "Yamadoo". I'm not to sure the exact parts of it but its an older skidoo, probably in the late 80's and is fitted with a yamaha front suspension. Looks pretty good too and has a yellow cab with a black YamaDoo decal on the side.

I had a Frankenpoo, sold It to my sister. She has had it for 4 seasons, it's for sale now.

It has a 86-87 Indy 600 tunnel (Memory is a little foggy),a 94 XLT engine,93 storm
trailing arms/shocks and hood, 93 Xlt seat & rear suspension. But at least its all poo stuff, It didn't need much mods. to make it work. Its still a strong runner and starts on first pull. :p

"It is a 91, 98, 92, 96, 93..."

But seriously, it looks awesome, you did a great job putting all that together!

Mr-siv,

The car in the background is my 69 Ford Fairlane.

It was a 302 auto car but now sports a warmed 351W and Toploader 4 gear.

The 69 351W is fresh this year and has custom ported heads with crane parts, Cam Dynamics 237@.50 duration, 527 lift bumpstick, Edelbrock RPM intake, Holley 650 DP carb, MSD ignition box and Rev control, electronic distributor, Holley electric blue pump - regulator and Fram can filter assembly, hooker Aero Chamber mufflers on 2 1/2 inch pipes with balance tube and 1/58 long tube headers and a toploader wide ratio 4 gear with a 2.78 low and Borg Beck 3 finger clutch assembly.

I also transplanted a set of big power discs to replace the original manual drums.

My son loves it when I drive it to pick him after high school dances. She really rattles and draws an instant crowd. Most of the kids have imports but nothing rumbles like a big bump stick pumping raw fuel out the back. It rocks and rumps to the tune of FOMOCO. When I light it up they all come over to see what is causing the rumble. No subs on board, just good old fashion muscle.

Since the picture I've dropped it down 3 inches in the front and 2 in the rear to toughen it up. I was putting a 429SCJ in it but changed my plans. I had forgot to put the old springs back in so in the picture from the appraisal it has big block springs with a small block on board.

You have to have something to do in the summer as well.

I know what you mean! I have a 1980 Firebird that I've been rebuilding. It has a 350 from a '74 Buick now. This thing is nowhere near stock! My baby! I just want to have it done in 8 years when my son can start driving.

Last winter/spring, I rebuilt a boat, my 3rd one. If I would just quit the boating & my firebird, I could buy a new sled to work on!

ZR5890cat, I know what you mean. I think the same way sometimes, sell all the other habits and focus on sleds. I would like a PRO X 700 or a new REV GSX with that 600 SDI. But summer is soooo long!.

I always tell myself if I had unlimited cash and could buy whatever I wanted, then what would I dream about while driving to work. Now I can cruise on my new sled or rip up the highway in my new Z06. And at bedtime would I still read the brochures to make sure my dreams had the correct and latest updates. I buy the auto trader and sled trader just for entertainment. Hmm, Maybe being a working stiff aint so bad. LOL.. Do you think Bill Gates dreams at night about his new Pro X, not likely. He's probably haunted by worrying about the IRS.

Hey MXZjunky, My taste isn't all that good, My first love has always been Ford and I'm partial to Polaris, but I've strayed on many occasions. I also have a Chevy for my other baby. It really pisses some people to think you can have favourites from multiple brands. I toyed with the idea of putting a Ford Racing windshield banner across my SS. It would drive the Chevy boys off the deep end, or how about a Ford NASCAR sticker on the trunk!!!. I could always add a small #3 to the trunk lid of the Fairlane for kicks.

WkinneIII, what is the 67 Pontiac, I love the 60's muscle. Square lines with a bit of attitude?

Scott S, that car is so sweet! I thought the c pillars didn't look quite right for a camaro, but it was my best guess ;-)
I've got a 65 mustang ragtop i've been working on since Jr. year in high school. hope to get it done in the next year or two... kind of hard since i only see it a couple times per year though.
I could only wish to have a drive train as nice as yours for it. As for your son, tell him how lucky he is, you could be like my dad and want a stupid honda more than any muscle car! (hes a good guy though)
anyways, heres a few pictures of what it looks like now:
