I was wondering if anyone has or knows where I could find a diagram or explain to me how to mount a set of easy steers on my sled.

If the this is the same product as Ski-doo, the "Y" part stops where the carbide enters the ski in the front. The screws have to be pre-drilled first. Start with the holes in the center of the easy steer right next to the carbides. The holes have to be angled enough where you are going into the beefier part of the plastic on the ski. When the center two screws are installed work your way backwards to get the remaining 4 screws. Then work your way forward to the tip of the ski. Do not try to connect the tip of the easy steer then drill the holes in the middle. As you tighten each screw, the plastic easy steer stretches forward a bit.

At the end of each season check to see if thay have broken, I have busted mine on a few rocks.

Thanks for the info Do the Doo. Do you like the easy steers? I figured for $15 bucks it couldn't be a bad investment.

The easy steers (OEM type metal plates) take the place of a standard wear bar. They would then use the special wear bar designed for that application(much shorter than standard wear bars. There is no drilling involved, you will be using the holes already provided in the ski.

I swear by them, they've saved me from purchasing many a ski when running in marginal conditions. To each their own...

I love the easy steer. First season with my 800 and i was darting extremely bad. With them on I deleted 90% of the darting. $15 is a lot cheaper that a pair of Precision or Simmons skis.
The concept behind easy steer is the snow is packed down before the carbide hits it almost eliminating the "groove" you tend to wonder into on groomed trails. My wife's sled had then from the factory and there was a night and day difference in ride.

Sounds good. I'll have to try to get them on soon from what I've been reading on sootrails.com is that they are going to start grooming by the weekend. Still marginal riding conditions but the first ride of the year is usually not the best either.

michahicks I may have used the wrong name for these, I know of the system you are talking about but these are just a fork shaped piece of plastic that mounts to the front of the ski I think that they are supposed to work on the same principal though.
