I am currently looking at buying a 1995 Karavan 2 place tilt bed steel frame trailer. Are Karavan's good quality trailer's?.

I have a 94'. Just watch the pivot point where the trailer tilts. Its the weak spot so if you load your sled crooked or to fast, you can twist the area. I installed large galvinized plates to lessen the twist when loading. Pending on the age of your sleds, its very tight. Skis will over hang each other in the center. You will not be able to load two sleds with Precision skis. Two wide. I have ski guides, but one ski guide in the center is mounted .25 inches hire allowing for the ski on one sled to over hang the other sled. Other wise, I like the trailer. A little heavy to push around, but I got it for a good price a while back.
Hope this helps.

I bought a Karavan aluminum 2 place 3 years ago. It has given me good service. The reason I bought a Karavan is that they are built only 30 miles away in Fox Lake Wi. Trying to help the local economy. Heck its for sale, first $800.00 takes it.

The two sleds that I will be using the trailer for is a 1979 Skidoo Everest 440 and a 1986 Skidoo Citation LS. But possibly in the next year or so purchasing a couple of Skidoo Grand Tourings or Summits.

The price of the trailer is $600. Does that seem reasonable???

Depends on location for price. I paid $550 for a 1996 2 place Karavan with a salt shield. The guy I bought it from in Michigan thought it was an aluminum trailer, so I thought I was getting a hellofa deal. I had someone pick it up and when I got it I found it was galvanized steel. But at $550 I was still happy with the deal. For California $600 may be reasonable. But for a little more you could be looking at an aluminum trailer. At the very least make sure its galvanized steel.

Karavan makes a nice trailer, but I would buy aluminum for sure. Steel is nothing bust rust.
