i wanna cut the horns down a little.. has anyone done this and much did they cut off..thanx

It's too easy to actually loose horsepower messing around with that air box from what I've seen. If you do decide to go ahead, YOU have decided you know more about it than Polaris does and are now an engineer. Even if somebody replies to your note in a manner that's believable, and with positive results, you'll need to match that persons complete setup/calibration to realize the same end result. I don't think it's worth the gamble....

thanx micha,i was thinking the same thing,but have read about people cutting them down about 1 inch,just curios to see if it was worth the hassle

if your sled is stock you can add a short horn in the center. i have done this to my '01xc500. my '01xc8 is gutted then made smaller by blocking off the third carb area. IMO mike

nope not stock,reeds,heel clicker kit,i was just gonna cut off an 1inch

if your sled has reeds its still stock. wouldnt cut off an inch. the length has something to do with the stroke of your engine.

what i meant was it doesnt have stock reeds...

i understand. what i meant is reeds give almost nothing for performance.
