Went riding today, and my uncle has a Sabercat 700. We must have put at least 6 plugs in it today. Just wondered if anyone else has had this trouble. It's new and only has about 75 miles on it. It seems to run fine and then all of a sudden it coughs and bogs out at about 5300 RPM. Says when he is going about 40mph or so and punches it it just sputters and won't go much faster than about 50-60. Thanks for your help, Butch.

Thanks, puree. I will pass this on to him. It wouldn't be so bad, but they're a royal pain to change with the pipe in the way. From now on, he'll be carrying a spring tool or vise grips. :D Thanks again, Butch.

Yeah must be mixed too heavy on the oil side. With the anti-foul plugs in she shouldn't kill the plugs except in extreme conditions. The best thing to carry with the Fire and Saber Cats is the spring tool for taking off the exhaust.

Good Luck with yours...
I have close to 100 miles on mine.

I just waited a few minutes when I changed mine,,,,I wasnt messing with pulling the pipe alongside the trail,,,,, last time I did that, I tried to adjust the rear suspension and pulled the entire adjuster off the sled,,,, do you know how hard you have to push on the spring to get it back on there,,,,took 2 of us with a biiiiiig wrench,,,,, he wouldnt even let me look at the suspension after that one,,,,,lol

I didn't foul a single plug in around 400 miles. Maybe I was hittin the throttle a little harder, don't know. Just for curiosity, what kind of oil did you premix and how much?
I did notice a little lag at about 85 on the second tank (which I used 93 octane to help rid the carbon build up from the first tank). By the third tank the lag went away and the 700efi/ext sabercat will holeshot an 02 zr 800efi. I believe its the long track advantage.
I did the riding up in Munising, Michigan and I really like the sled. The brakes are almost unbelievable. Significantly more room up front for body english in the turns. I could actually stay on the balls of my feet thru the turns. The remote start sure turned a lot of heads, it has spoiled me. This is my wifes sled and I was just breaking it in for her. Now I have to go back to my hand start 02 zr 800 efi. (sigh) . By the way, I mixed Arctic APV (synthetic) at 7.5 oz. per 6 gal can of gas. :D

my f7 carb was fat for the first tank, also the factory carb settings are horrible. Mine came with 510 went down to 480, one half turn in on the fuel screw, one half turn out on the air screw, MBRP can and v- force, problem solved and the sled is extremely fast. still more mods to come but this setup is lean and mean. Should be same down below zero as wwell

ArTeeCat...exactly where are you now on your fuel and air screws, meaning, exactly how many turns out from all the way in/
