I took on a project sled for a friend who is pretty much non-machanical. His old yamaha has not really run for 10 years more or less, and I took the carb off and cleaned it blew out the jets and tried to disassemble the choke which is a two possition on 1/2 or full or full off. It would not come out of the carb. I tried to open it up and could see the spring, and expected some sort of needle valve to come out but it would not budge. Having never taken one apart before I didn't force it and put it all back together assuming the tinyest bit of play was all it was designed for. After a full carb clean fuel system clean I fired it up and could tell the choke was pretty much useless.
I need to know if that apparatus comes full out of the carb and how. Does it unscrew, or is it simply pined in, or what?
Somebody out there knows yamaha (I believe it is a Kheim carb) carborators and should beable to tell me without having to research this thing out. Or tell me where I could find the answer without having to talk to some condisending smart ### dealer who only wants you to pay him for a simple question. Machine runs fine after start up and it simply needs a fix on this choke issue.
Any help here would be appreciated.
