I would say the 600 HO. *After racing my dad's 99 or 00 Mach 1 and beating him with my MXZ X 600 until about 80 mph. *They are a very light sled, and the 03 600 have 8% more hp than the 02. *I'm now sold on the 600s. *They are fast, light, and can run with the big boys. * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

No doubt the 600HO is snappy but i would go with the 800. The low engadgement of the 800 twin rocks . *Nothing like shifting out at 3800rpm.

I am going with the 600HO which is awsome but for what you described i would go with the 800. *But remeber fuel eco. *That 800 will get around 130 - 140km on a tank. * The 600 should do about 160-170.

Go with the 800. Look at the SKI-DOO site and check out the weight of both sleds http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif.
I rode a 02 X 800 this year , my freind has a 2000 MXZ 600.
The fuel mileage was close. I would take about 1 gal to 1/2 gal more than him.

I must be the only one that is sold on the 600. *Don't get me wrong here the 800 is a awesome sled. *Its just that after driving my 600 I cant get enough of it. *The 800 will be one heck of a lake sled. * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

800! *I test drove one and it is a beast! 800 cc's and only 454 pounds. *You're almost guaranteed a win over your buddies! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I'm not sure if the 800 is such a great buy because the Rev isn't a lake runner, in fact, it's the worst sled on the lakes that I drove. It is dangerously unstable over 100 mph, the front end lifts and the whole sled drifts on the left side and that was in perfect conditions (1 mile lake, no wind, completely flat surface with 1 " of packed snow) 5 persons that drove it that day at wot had the same thing happen. Having a lightweight front end does have disadvantages I guess. If you buy a 800 you can always gear it slower and add some torque *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
