Any particular reason for your choice of belt? If you said other, specify the brand.

100% OEM, never had a problem with OEM, so why switch?

I've tried Dayco, but it just didn't perform the way I liked. I use the SkiDoo 067 belt now.

For racing, Dayco Ultimax 2 or Gates extreme for me. *Both great belts IMO. *For the trails, OEM.

I forgot to include them in the poll, but is Goodyear still making the Power Streak belt?

i gave my vote to OEM. We run the 127's . They will easily last 2000 kliks if you break it in and follow proper startup procedures. The 067's take 5mph off of top end. I put a dayco 144-4353 on the GADE when i was in cochrane last. It held up well to a 1000 kliks of powder busting

I run OEM in my sleds. *The OEM belt just seems to make the sled go faster and accel harder. *

I used Goodyear Powerstreak and I was impressed buy how it held up. *It lasted over 1 and 1/2 seasons till it was warn but it never broke. *

The only problem was that the good year didnt perform. I would get it for a touring machine but not for a racer.

Dayco is also good but OEM just seems better.

Dayco Ultimax 2 work great for me.

Dayco

Been good to me. *Never compared directly to an OEM belt as for a speed loss. *Might have to give that a try.

The Dayco I had seemed to slip more and the clutches would run hotter...too hot...snow vaporized if it touched the primary...forget putting your hand on it!

I've just switched back to oem bomb. (067) belt, and it seems to be holding up well and not wearing out too quickly.
For the last few seasons, I used Dayco ultimax II's, the 138-4353 and then the 144-4353. I liked those belts for racing, but they wore out quickly (belt got narrow), and some of them would have cord pull out. I also noticed that when switching from dayco to bomb., I had to either click up tra one or remove 1-1.5g of pin weight to keep rpms.

Does anyone know if Dayco makes the Bombi belts? looking at the markings on the belts, they do look similiar. I would assume though that Ski-doo would have specs as to the tolerances and rubber compounds that they would what the belts made to.

permafrost...I've been thinking about this for a while...and I can't figure out how the 067 Doo belt can take 5 mph off your sled? Please enlighten me. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

I'm not sure of the PNs, but I have read in Ski-doo's info that one belt is better for top speed and the other is better for wear. now if I could only find it in my junque. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

While I stay OEM, I still tinker with belt performance by changing my helix on the driven clutch to a 51 from a 55 for more positive shifting for my riding style. *Slow, in deep deep powder through the trees.

Gotta stick with what works good. *Never had any problems with OEM belts. *They last a pretty long time, with proper care.

Thats the way it is rocketman. I'm not sure why but the 067 is a much harder compound. *We compared and we lost 5mph top end consistently.

I put on 5200 miles on the original belt on my '01 MXZ before the cogs started breaking off.

I found the info that I had gotten from Ski-doo, so here goes:

414 8607 belt has a softer compound which doesn't slip for better acceleration. 43 1/2" long

414 9182 belt has a harder compound for better top speed, but it slips at lower speeds. I've added a note that this belt has been replaced by 415 0603.

Has anyone tried the XHD belts that Ski-doo has been selling? With the good life I've gotten in the past with the OEM belt on my 600s, I can't see shelling out the extra coin.

I thought the 067 was the gold XHD belt? I'm running the 0127 which is definately softer than the 067.

I'll have to check the sled. I'm pretty sure its a 8607 on it. When I got the spare belt for it, it was less than a $100. Aren't the XHDs over a hundred bucks?

revrnd

It is the 8607 on it, so I can't complain about the cost when I got a season and a half out of it.

According to Ski-doo, the 414 8607 belt was softer than the 414 9182. The 414 9182 belt has been replaced by the 415 0603 00.

127 is a softer compound than the 067. Either one is a good belt for the 670, I like the 127 for hillclimbing and deep powder riding, if broke in properly you won't smoke this belt!!

the proper belt really depends on your clutch setup if your clutching is stock there is a good chance that the oem belt will work the best because it was tested and clutched with an oem belt

with my 96 ZR 580 EFI i am running the newer style 9-post primary with 51.5 gram notched weights with and Aaen roller secondary with a 51 degree helix and i found that no other belt works as well and lasts as long as the dayco ultimax II and i can get these for 32 bucks (dealer price) so all is well. *there isn't any one "best" belt it all depends on what works for you

I just noticed yesterday in the JR Graham catalog that Kimpex belts are actually a Dayco Max, just sold under the Kimpex badge. *And they're 30% cheaper if they say Kimpex. *Just some FYI. *If anyone wants the part# conversion, it's in the catalog, so I can look it up for ya.
