Well guys... I'm a believer! Seeing yellow in my future. So far!!
6 of us rode on Sunday in Haliburton Forest. Snow was pretty good considering.
Did some tweaking to my sled and was having a great day till lunch time. After lunch, we started switching sleds... jumped on my brother-in-laws ZL 700... liked it, rode it for a bit.... Then our friend Phil let me take his 600 HO REV Adrenaline... OH MY GOD is all I said after 5 miles!!!!!
Now I have heard all sorts of things about how you have to ride it for a few hours to get use to it... I can say with in 15 minutes I was in control of that REV!
Phil rides like I do, so this sled was dialed pretty close to what I like. Phil was leading on my sled and within 20 minutes I was ready to pass him on any corner!!!
It takes bumps really nice, and flies pretty good too. I still like my ZR on corners.
The only thing I didn't like was the touchie steering, but I think it just need a softer setting up front.
Also heard about guys being cold... or wind protection problems... 50mph I was doing some expirements... putting my hand just above the windshield to see the windline... worked pretty good... hand protection... good. This one had the mid height windscreen attached to the bars. Hit my leg on really tight turns, like turning around some where.
One thing I did notice was vaccume like suction at high speeds!! The run back in to base camp I streched the legs a bit on the HO a let it rip... around 75 and up I felt the suction around my pant legs... were sort of flapping... seem a bit wired, but I could live with it.
I have rode a lot of different sleds... Polaris... Yamaha... AC... Skidoo... but man, if this is the way sledding is going... is all I can say!!

So... next up, we are going to get a F6 for a weekend and ride both! Then I will be totally confused, but that F6 better be some sled... or I'm buying a REV next!

Greg it is nice to hear an honest report from someone. Seems that you like it more than some of the Doo faithful.

Greg,
Good to hear about the rev. Was there any snow around the trailer or was it all up at the Forest? Hope it's still there after this rain.
I'll be in touch after Christmas about a ride, if we get some snow :(

ZR Rider. That is exactly why I Handed the keys to My Mach to the dealer.

You think its hard going from Arctic cat to Skidoo. I had it worse going from The Mach to anything else. But the point and shoot ability of the REV had me sold.

The touchy steering is part of the getting used to the rev and suspention adjustments can relive that. Was it a 03 or 04 rev. I only ask becasue you mentioned that you like the cornering better on your ZR. The 03 was a little tippy and made you feel a little unsure of what was going to happen. But the 04 rails, nothing can touch it in corners.

As for the F7, If you get the 600SDI I have a feeling it will be a close drag race. Many cat guys and even skidoo guys dont belive it. But ive driven both now and I just cant think of another sled that hauls the mail like the SDI. And when you pull into the gas station and only put in a few dollars for all that fun. :D

Glad you saw the light. I felt the same way the first time I rode it.

Machz1, I was just curious why you bought the 600 rather than the 800? After having a rocket like the mach wouldn't the 800 been more appealing?Keep in mind I'm not trying to #### you off,I was just wondering why the smaller motor.

Greg, good to hear an honest report on another brand. You're a true sledder, and let us know how it goes with the F6. This is not to say anyone else who does not like the REV (or any other sled for that matter) is hiding their true opinions, just that Greg is obviously giving us the facts, and not afraid of spilling the truth.

Martin, for some reason I thought you kept the Mach....no????

It is an early order 04. But they have been fiddling with the front springs and I think he has them set too high. My ZR just rails around with a touch of ski lift!! Harder I turn the more in cuts!

James... we went to the forest... hated paying to play there, but what are you going to do. Trails were still closed.

So, been in touch with my dealer... all setup. F6 demo fully studded. All we need now is SNOW!!!!! Mother nature is a BIT*H!!! lol

Maybe you should wait to buy a REV. Word is that Polaris has a REV copy Cat coming out next year. Wait to ride that one first before you buy.

I bleed green,,,,I have rode the rev and I honestly can not say its not a work of art,,,,but its not for me. I have a bad knee from a basketball accident a few years back and my knees could not take the abuse,,,,

I would never put one down, they really are nice sleds, but they are definetly not for everybody
