: Mid Year Release

I can't believe we haven't received any information about a mid year release.
My dealer told me that as soon as Polaris released their information, ski-doo
would do the same.

The new Polaris was leaked out (heard the guy lost his job over it) and I thought
for sure someone would know something regarding ski-doo.

Anyone have any concrete information? Not speculation...

I don't know if the dealers will be too happy if it's some mega cc sled. RevIAm said his dealer told him the 800s weren't moving that well compared to the 600s.

W/ the way people are having difficulties getting insurance for sleds over 600 cc, I find it hard to fathom why the OEMs would want to put these sleds on the market.

Just my 2 cents.

I dont know about 800 not moving as you hardly ever see one on a dealers floor. My dealer sells all the 800's he can get.

The dealer that I bought my machine from said that approximateley 80% of the sleds that he sold were 600cc or less.

Insurance rates are killing the 800s

Maybe they don't order any other than snowchecked sleds. No sense in having a sled sitting in the showroom come April.

Next time I'm talking to my dealer (probably next week) I'll ask how many 800s they sold.

There may be some truth to that with the crappy sales and the glut of non currents on the market. On the other hand it seems that a large percentage of the sleds I see on the trail are big twins. A few years back when the big triples where still being made you never saw a ton of them around. When the big twins came out this changed as there wasnt the weight or handling penalty like there is with a big triple and more people got into the big cc sleds. Of course this is just my observation of the area I live in. IN Canada it may be differant due to economics or other factors.

A nice mid year release would be some snow, so everyone could at least try out what they already bought before tradin for something newer.

I heard that they're going to use up some of the old 809's they've got lying around (apparently these things live forever - they can't get rid of them, right Marty???). The rumour is that they're going to axe the big 1500 4-stroke in the Elite and replace it with 2 809's, making something to the effect of 300HP.

I guess some of the grass and asphalt drag racers have been complaining about the lack-lustre performance of the Skidoo's new flagship the Elite.

:D

My feelings would not be hurt if they came out with a 900sdi renagade. I really dont want to buy the 900 Poo, but will if Doo doesnt offer a 900.

The 700 was down for less than a week. Had it going on the afternoon of the 20th. Hasn't snowed much here, but we're putting on the miles.

See you on the weekend!

P.S. I like Pil!
