I know I wasn't part of the initial conversations, but I keep hearing you guys talk about Newberry @ the end of Jan. My thoughts are if you guys don't mind, I might trail up behind or try and meet up sometime around those dates.

Can anyone confirm a where/ when/ and which hotel? feel free to PM or email me if you guys dont mind.

The wife and I and my nephew and his wife are heading up on Saturday January 31, 2004 and returning on the following wednesday. We are staying at the Comfort Inn in Newberry. I figure we will try and get an early start...if I'm not mistaken, that is usually the weekend that Cadillac has the Northern American Snowmobile Fesitval, but most of the traffic should already be there.

Myself and at least 2 buddies are going up and riding from Monday till Friday the 30th,,,,,gonna miss cats dish by one day,,,,
got snow is going up either Saturday or Sunday and then heading back to Indiana on Wednesday. I am gonna talk to another buddy on here tonight to see if he is interested in rolling that way also,,,,

You are more than welcome to roll that way..... My group is staying in the Gateway hotel,,,,have stayed there the past few years and I really like it. I think got snow was staying at the comfort inn,,,,,

yep. i'm going up on the 24th i believe. it's a saturday leaving in the morning early. and i will be coming back the 28th wednesday, I'm staying at the best western right at the trail head... If i remember right????? I've been busy getting the atv put back together so i can RIDE SOMETHING.... i'm going to meet up with puree, on monday morning. Imight be going solo, or a body might come on a last minute thing.... :rolleyes: who know's... VERY UNRELIABLE. OFFERED TO COVER ROOM AND I AM PROVIDING THE SLED...... some people????????

Thats cool, I appreciate the offers. my situation stands at this. I've got a truck / trailer and 1 sled, so I'm open to all suggestions to follow someone, drive with someone, or ride along with someone. I just want to ride and by the looks of it, all my buddies are out of town or already have commitments that week.

If nothing else, if you end up going up at the same time we do, we can meet you at 4 mile road just south of Grayling and then hit breakfast and finish the ride together from there,,,, I am sure we can come up with something!!!!

I have no problem with whatever. I am in the middle of taking a serious look at my date's i may have a few things coming up at work that may have to make me shift a day or two one way or another now. i'm still going but it may be like a friday-tuesday or thursday-monday, instead of saturday thru wednesday.... this is all getting confusing to me. I should know better by this next week... puree i'll let you know for sure because i do want to hook up with ya for atleast 2 days of riding... what day was you planning on the bridge ride??

doesnt really matter to me,,,,as far as I am concerned, we can hit it the first day,,, but I definetly want to get that one in,,,,, we will decide as we get closer to the date,,,,,
do let me know when youll be up there, I will have the 5 days mapped out, but we can switch and swap so that you get the 2 or 3 rides in that you are interested in,,, doesnt really matter which day we do it on,,,,
if your at the best western, we will end up stopping down at mcdonalds and getting out long johns and all on, then head to the hotel and unload,,,, I figure it will be too early to check in, so we will just unload the sleds and off we go,,,,, as long as we have a way to get ahold of you, we will let you know when we hit town, and then ride right down to your hotel if we are heading to the bridge that day,,,,, if we are heading north, we will have you ride up to our hotel and then leave from there,,,

YES IT WOULD!! But as things are now i think i am going to only be able to match up with you for 2-3 days of rides i should know by wednesday for sure. PROMISE also it is good to know that you are not going up to bar hop!!! I don't understand how they can go sit in a bar 365 days a year if they want to. but when the snow's here i'll be darned if i'm gonna waste any of my ride time setting in a bar drinking beer's all day with the sled parked outside. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! look forward to talking to ya about final plans hopefully they get slammed and there is snow to ride on... as of today i think it's not looking good up there!!

OFFICIALLY::: Here is my itenary for when i am going.leaving saturday early early morning, the 24th and staying until wednesday the 28th until about 12 noon. so monday tuesday, will be our rides together puree. get the 2 best rides for those days if you don't care. i have told all my buddies there chances of going are gone. offered free sled to ride and free room they all love work to much or have other obligations for those days...so i'll be by myself but i think i am still taking both sleds because if i had a breakdown up there i would freak out if i had to come home sunday or monday :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: hopefully my luck stays with me..... let me know where you want to meet monday morning when you get there. I am staying at the best western. here is a pic of my sled so you can find me but it no longer has the sticker on the windshield
