Lawsuits Could Put Southeast Snowriders Out Of Commission
The president of the Southeast Snow Riders Snowmobile Club is frustrated by what is happening to their insurance rates. Harold Kihn says every year their premiums go up. He notes this year the provincial organization, Snowman, is paying $132,000.00 in premiums. Kihn says there is a move to make the user more responsible for their actions. He says the problem stems from lawsuits that people bring against local clubs. Kihn notes in most cases it was not the fault of the club or the trails, rather it was driver error that caused the accident. He adds if people continue to sue the clubs it will be too costly for them to get insurance and they will have to stop operating the trails.
