Have a 96 formula III with replacement choke cables. It starts fine but only runs for half a mile. Local skidoo racers think the engine is getting to much gas and the chokes are partly activated at all times. Will start easily without the choke right after it dies but runs for a shorter distance each time it starts. The choke switch was very stiff the first few times I used it. I understand that carbs have enrichers not butterfly's. All three pipes are hot. Any comments on what the settings should be for the cables or what you think the problem might be?
Thanks. Bob

Did you check if plugs are wet , gas on, old or new gas, remove choke lever and pull each cable for free play ? You should also drop ,check and clean carbs , you can remove and check your chokes at that time .

sounds like it is running out of gas. fuel pump ok? pulse line to pump ok?
frozen fuel line or clogged fuel filter?

thanks to those who replied. Local skidoo racers worked the machine over for me and determined the carbs were out of sync(had just been cleaned) and the choke cables were way out of whack and it was getting too much fuel.
