I adjusted some things today and want some opinions. While sitting on my sled today(02 mxz 800 Adrenaline),I noticed that my blocks were'nt in the middle. So I set back shock to firm position, which helped a little, but not much. After that adjustment I noticed my straps were loose,so I tightened them one hole.sat on sled again and noticed straps were still pretty loose.Question is should I tighten straps another hole or should I put everything back where it was?I don't want to throw everything out of kilter by having straps to short. Also,I have springs and front shock on stiffest position.I wonder if I need to get shocks redone for my body weight(290).Please give me some ideas.Thankyou
Tom,
Even at 290 I don't think you need to crank up the front sping preload all the way.Go about half way. Set the front spring on the skid at position 3. Set the rider weight adjustment cams on heaviest setting(4) The front end may get too heavy to steer if you go any tighter with the limiter staps.
What are your complaints? What is the issue with the suspension?

My problem is that I can't get blocks in the middle. Also, I set back shock to stiff position and it seems that I need to go 2 holes on my straps now to get their tension correct. I just wondered if this will make front to heavy?should I even worry about blocks being in the middle?Should I put everything back the way it was?My problem is I can bottom out track very often on small jumps(3-4 feet off ground 10-30 feet length)

Tom, your limiter straps should have slack in them. The idea behind them is to allow the front of the side to drop under power. This lets the track get more bite under acceleration. I would inquire with Ski-Doo about new springs in the back for your weight. At 290 + another 40-50 for gear and clothing, that is a fair weight. That is more then likely your only problem. Other then that, put the limiter straps back to their factory setting and loosen up the front skid shock or you won't have any slidders left after a couple rides!
hope it works out

I have a 2002 mxz and I weigh 250-260 depending on the year. I have the front shocks about half way, I tightened up the limiter straps one notch, the center shock is about half and the rear is on the highest setting. I have had excellent results with this set up. I use 7.5 carbides and the steering is perfect. I did just install agressive springs in the rear. I think the others wore out. I haven't really noticed the coupler block position as a problem.
I hope this helps.

Can I buy heavier springs?I think heavier would be the ticket for me.

Funny you should ask. Im about 250 and am having the same problem with my 02 MXZ. I took it to the dealer and they are installing heavy duty helper springs and a heavier front coil-over. Cost? About $300.00 installed. Its still at the dealer waiting parts. Ill let you know the reults when I get it back.
I though it was just out of adjustment since I bought it from a woman that weighed about 100 lbs. Ive read other posts that you should take the weight off the track in the off season to prevent the springs from sagging. I will make sure to do that this year.
