Mark, this is definitely not normal. Perhaps a little more information will help. Did you just install the clutch kit, or has it been in there for a while? How does the sled perform once it's warmed up? Is the belt relatively new or old, and how does it sit in the clutch sheave while at rest? Let us know and I'm sure someone on the site can help you out

i installed this clutch kit 4 years ago in my 96 zrt 600 .it has allways sliped when i would start it up in the morning and i have to baby it for a mile or two untill it warms up.once the sled is warmed up it performs exelent with a very strong pull from a stop all the way to top end with the clutches being warm to the touch but not what i would call hot. the belt rides at about 3/32-1/8 inch out of the secondary when stopped and it always has .i change belts when it gets even with the top of the secondary.i have the same results using stock a/c belt ,dayco or b/m.there is a little more room in the drive clutch that i will remedy after i get this first ride out of the way this week in the up . the side play is about .080 with a new belt in the drive clutch.thanks Mark
