After my sleds been warmed up, it runs great all day long, even after several stop and goes. But, on the initial start of the day I have to keep the revs up to around 3000 until it warms up. If I try to gradually lesson the throttle to an idle, it dies off and I have to prime it again to keep it running. On all the other sleds I've had I could just walk away after they were running for a minute or so with no fear of it dieing out. The carbs have been completely cleaned and floats set to spec the whole ball of wax. I spoke with my dealer and he was saying that I should dump the dial-a-jets off it, as their causing a lean idle circuit. When I bought the sled it had the dial jets already installed. I've never used them before, are cold start problems a side affect of the dial-a-jet system, something else?. The sled is stock except for a Fast Ent silencer and the dial-a-jets.

I can't understand how it can run good and strong except for the initial start?. Any ideals or is the dealer right?.

Thanx, Darrell

Can't offer you a lot of help but my brother runs the dial a jets on his 97 F-III and it still starts cold the same as it always did.
