I have a 94 ski doo formula stx and I would like to wire a outlet in for a heated helmet shield. I have a HJC helmet and they sell the electric shield and the outlet to wire on to the sled. I just don't know where I would wire the outlet in at.

If you look on the right hand side under the hood there is an unused wire connector sticking out a few inches back by the gas tank,chain case area.If I remember correctly its a T shape.This is where they originally hooked up the beeper if you had reverse installed.I've hooked a couple up there and they work awesome.

Willy, did the F chassis sleds have these? I can't remember how my brother wired up his '95 STX.

look around under the cowl for unused wires with connectors on them. suspend the back of the sled, start the sled, and with a wire tester touch around till you find a live wire. just connect into that wire.

I found the T shaped connector under the hood. On my sled it was near the steering on the right hand side, kind of behind the airbox. It has two yellow wires... does this sound like the wire im looking for?

what you want to find is a live wire and ground wire, you can only do it by having the sled running.

That is the wire you need. Start sled, raise rear and check with multimeter or continuity tester across terminals to make sure you have juice. Use DC volts if you are using a multimeter.

That is how I did my '95 STX.

Yup I wired up my 94 STX this way and my 97 MXZ still has it as well.
