: Clutch Kit Choice.
Z-Rider 12-29-2003, 11:05 AM Hey Everyone,
Out of all of the companies that make clutch kits for Arctic Cat sleds which one seems to make the best kit. Any and all opinions are welcome pertaining to ease of install, durability, performance, tech support, etc. Thanks to all that reply.

3eyedcat 12-29-2003, 11:34 AM Dakota, goodwin, d&d, speedwerx, slp, simonscpr, take your pick, there all good....
ZR Sled Head 12-29-2003, 12:01 PM Goodwyn rates #1 in my book followed closely by Dakota and SimmonsCPR.

Bar2Bar 12-29-2003, 12:17 PM The local Cat dealer here always ranks these 3 as the best (in order). From what I have read simonscpr works well but it's priced almost twice as much.
1. D&D
2. Speedwerx
3. Goodwin
Z-Rider 12-29-2003, 12:52 PM Thanks for the input . So far I think I am going with Goodwin but I am up for suggestions. The sled is a 2004 Z-370.

No disrespect,,,, but i have never heard of anyone "clutching" such a small sled
puree 12-30-2003, 10:43 AM I like d&d,,,, never had any bad luck with them
ZR Sled Head 12-30-2003, 06:33 PM With a small h/p sled you need the clutching closer to spot on for best performance than one with big :christmas: h/p.

Z-Rider 12-30-2003, 08:22 PM HP&Torque,
No disrespect taken. Just want to get a little more initial zip on take off in the twisties. Overall I am pretty happy with the sled and who could complain about 18 to 19 miles to the gallon U.S. so far. Yes we actually did the math 80 miles on just over 4 gallons of gas. My buddy has the same sled and we repeated the above scenerio twice on both sleds. I new we would get good milage that is why we bought this model but I had no idea it would be this good.
puree 12-30-2003, 11:59 PM your getting better than what we got out of our 370,,,,we were just over 15 mpg,,,,
wonder what kind of difference one could expect from adding a clutch kit to a 370,,,,, I know I aint gonna take it out and whip the firecats,,,,but what kind of difference do you think it would do??
HP&Torque 12-31-2003, 09:49 AM That, is mileage i will never get!!!! good luck with your setups!!!
BLEEDIN GREEN 12-31-2003, 03:26 PM I'm with ZR Sled Head--go Goodwin and you won't be dissapointed! I asked this question a couple of seasons ago and he was the first to reply to my post and he suggested Goodwin (along with many other people). Their tech support is second to none, the performance is great (more outta the hole, better back-shifting, good pull all the way to the top, and a little more speed on the top-end). I have heard good thing about all of the others mentioned, but I'll stay with Goodwin until they steer me wrong!--Bleedin'
puree 01-01-2004, 02:18 AM but how much of a difference is a kit in the 370 going to do,,,, I can hit 62mph on the speedo on a nice smooth rode and that is holding it down,,, on the trail, its closer to 50 on wide open runs,,,,,cant kick it in the tail to get anymore out of it either,,,,
