Buddy that I ride with was quoted 225 [cdn] per piston for a 02-800mxz, is that what these things go for? Sounds like alot of coin. Any input...Thanks....

Yes the OEM bombi pistons are very expensive.I rebuilt a cold siezed 583 for a buddy several years ago and we were quoted $170ish I think for each piston.I can't remember if that price included the rings or not but I do remember that the rings were not included in the price of the piston. We went for aftermarket pistons, had both cylinders rebored .020 and had a brand new top end for less than the price of the one new OEM piston.

I paid $170USD for a '00 700 piston, and $90 for the factory gaskets.

exactly why I suggest cudneys pistons on the 700 twin ,like 200 bucks per set, with rings and pins.I paid over 350 from doo for the same motor.

As dooman said, you might want to check in with Bill at Cudney Racing (http://www.cudneyracing.com).

Just make sure that you check your ring end gap with those pistons before installing them - they can be a little too tight.

The price is right, and if you're nice to him, he may even through in some base gaskets for you! :D

We just did the top end on the young lads 99 600, and got a kit from Wiesco, complete including gaskets for under $300cdn.
