Well it's finally done and the winner is the 97 MXZ 670. I paid $3400.00 Canadian for it and it's in mint shape! I mean you could eat off it from the engine area. I had one before and loved it, so I'm excited to hop on it to feel the nice 670 torque that they produce. It will be interesting to see it race against my other sled, which is a 99 Thundercat. Any predictions?? :slick: :D Both are bone stock, oh and the MXZ has a 144 studs in the center belt.

It will still be fun though. I buy sleds that are in good shape and are good deals, the make and model are not to important all long as there a good deal. :D

I had no problems staying ahead of a T-cat with my 670 up until about 80 mph, when he went on by me.

You might want to think about the Bovin suspension kit if it doesn't already have it installed. Makes a world of difference on choppy trails.

The 670 is a MUCH better engine than the 700, so I think you'll enjoy it!

Had a 670 in my Grand Touring, and it was bullet proof!! Ran just as well when I sold it (with a wack of miles) as the day I bought it. If the sled wasn't so heavy i would still own it.

Believe it or not the Bovin up grade kit is worth what you pay, better ride and allows you to run a much looser track which reduces hi-fax wear and equals more horse power to the ground where it counts. Just ask Mikadoo, a dedicated ski-donkey rider who tinkers with everything on his sleds or knows what to leave alone :christmas:

Buy yourself a little cold weather insurance, update your needle jets from stock '97 224 AA-2 to the '98 spec 224 AA-3. That will save you a mid burn down on a fast cold lake run.

Enjoy the sled !!!

Thanks guys for the input. I wanted a sled that was fast and realiable, and thats what you get with these sleds. This one has the A D Boivin suspension already installed. I will pick it up on Friday and will be out testing it that afternoon. From what I see, written about the 2000 MXZ 700, I am kinda glad I went with the 97 MXZ 670 instead. Sounds like theres to many problems with the 700 motor bearings. Can anyone tell me how to download pics to this site, my pics from my camera have to many bites so I need to downsize them some how. That way I could show everyone on this site what shape the machine's in. :D

If you can hook up that Thundercat right off the line, the 670 will fall behind way before 80mph. NOW....If it was a 670HO, things would be a little different

The HO made about 12-15 more HP than the standard 670 twin. It was what I call a FREAK one year wonder with almost 800cc twin power, but in a 503lb chassis.
