I have some leftover DANCO oil that's designed for use in Polaris snowmobiles. The date on the bottle says 1/10/01. Does have a shelf life or is it good forever? Please help.

i won't say good forever because forever is a long time and the oil has been in the ground for millions of years. the oil will be good until the second coming and you won't need it after that.

oil is good for ever, unless it is exposed to water

What's 4 bucks to your thousand dollar sled?? If you don't trust it I say chuck it!! :unsure:

So true Paul, if he is sure it's still clean? Old can! could have water? only he would know, and if he's not sure then...........2001 to 2004? If it's clean by all means :)

I have 4 gallons of the DANCO oil still brand new never been opened!!

Anyone want to buy them? I just bought a 2002 XC 600 with VES and this oil is not recommended for the VES.

Nope throw it out (recycle of course). Over time the additives in oils will separate, cost me an engine in my race car a few years back. Valvoline suggested oil anything over 2 yrs or so should not be used. Yes they finally made good on the engine repairs.
