my 1998 XC 700 is going to 8100 then dropping off to 7300 at about 70 mph and I've already tried adjusting the secondary clutch spring. Any answers???

:D How many miles on it ?have you had your clutches serviced {new pins bushings etc} try a new primary spring? :D
It sounds like the cam arm bushings are worn

Check for broken primary spring. Engagement lower than normal?

Primary spring starting to "sag" or secondary? Some Polaris springs were noted for this. Anything you do to it as far as changes? How you gone "thru" the clutches as mentioned before? Did you just buy it or had it run where it should before? How is the belt, motor mounts? -Grover :(

I bought the clutch calibrated to my machine last season but didn't drive it much!
I've tried putting my stock weights and spring in the comet but it still did the same thing! And played with the tention on the secondary with no help!

What weights and springs are you using? What helix?

I'm using my stock parts trying to solve the problem before I try buying every spring out there till I find the problem or run out of cash!

What is the stock helix on my machine? And what should I be changing it to for aggresive trail and lake racing?

A whole clutch set up would be nice if I could find one that everyone agrees on because everyone tell me different things

I've been told the stock 60gram weights are good in my sled but both springs and helix should be swaped! ?????
