The CMSA Season opener will be taking off at French Lake on January 17th in part with the french lake snowmobile club. There will be classes for everyone from the trail rider to full mod Professional racer. The trail classes have trophies (1st-3rd)and the pro classes are 80% payback. $1000 is up for grabs to the fastest speed of the day ($500 top speed of the day, $500 fastest snowmobile engine powered machine)

Speeds are expected to exceed 160mph with the possibility of exceeding 170mph. With the expected appearance of the original Jaws machine this should be a very exciting race, not to mention all of the world records that are expected to fall.

More info can be found at www.cmsaracing.com or www.frenchlakesnow.com

see you there.

Hope they do something with that track at Breezy. Chewed and real rough last week. Sounds like most of the open mod guys will be there... w00t

Just a reminder to all the trail class racers. THere is classes available for you as well as the professional racer. The trail stock classes allow you to compete against racers of like experience and machines. We will be running at least 3 lanes and possibly 4 if room permits. We wont have the problems associated with dead batteries in the radar guns either, we will be incorporating the use of professional timing systems that will allow us to speed up the number of sleds through out the day down each lane.

Hope to see everyone there.

With no snow might as well get the buddies togther and trailer your sledsdown to the race track at French Lake and see what they can do. Settle some of those "discussions" of whose fastest. Not to mention seeing some of the fastest sleds in the world run.

is it maditory to have a inclosed clutch cover on our improved stock 700? The rules say that you need it but what if you dont?

In improved stock the clutch cover is required to have a belting on the top side of the factory clutch guard. i will have belting available at all races if you need some ($2.00/ft) The side of the clutch cover is required to extend down to the center point of the primary clutch. It does not have to be "fully" enclosed. The side has to be aluminum or steel sheeting. which can be bolted, riveted, or welded to your factory cover.

I hope this helps, i would like to see you there.

The tracks are shaved and ready for action. Who else is coming? These tracks are just too nice. No bumps this year. 160mph? maybe more if no wind?

the only way you could wipe the smile from my face is with the use of a 2x4 with a full swing behind it. even that might not work
