: Don't You Just Love Snowsqualls?
Tiggyboot 01-07-2004, 09:45 AM Look at these squall lines in So. Ontario. Huge snow producers, yeah!

Look at the various webcams on the new VR.
This weekend should be awesome in Collingwood area. Prior to the summer spell we had last week, there was on average 3 feet of snow, some places 4. The new Renegade X SDI got put to the test. Passed with flying colors. I had it buried most of the time. I was completely covered in snow. Didn't get stuck once! That was with the 1 1/4 track. I can only imagine the larger lug track in those conditions! Woooo!

best part about Collingwood/Blue Mountain area? no Muskoka rocks, stumps, swamps and snow-cross racer idiots!

supr_dave 01-07-2004, 12:00 PM hey tiggyboot, when trailering into collingwood, where do you access the trails and leave your truck. I'm thinking about heading that way early next week, I haven't had a single ride this year and Collingwood is only 3 hours away. Thanks for the input.
Tiggyboot 01-07-2004, 12:16 PM I'll try to explain this the easiest way I can. There is a club maintained parking lot located on 33 sideroad. If coming north on 124, make a left on 33 sideroad, go west about 5kms or so, you will come to a hill and sharp left, the parking lot is on your left just before the hill. The trails run through there, you can't miss it. Here are some mapquest pics to help out.

Be advised, there is no gaurentee what the conditions will be like, but I would have to think they will be good. Grooming may or may not be completed, with all the snow coming midweek, it's hard to say if the groomers will have a chance to catch up. Nevertheless, have some fun!

Tiggyboot 01-07-2004, 12:25 PM two pieces of advice
don't go into the parking lot if it's unplowed (you'll get stuck), park on the side of the road, it's allowed
take your time if there's snow coming down, if you've never experienced these snowsqualls, they are absolutely brutal, you can't see sh*t from shinola, one minute it's a blue sky and sunny, the next your in the middle of hell with no way out!
god I love it
usedtoskidoo 01-07-2004, 01:10 PM I am going up to markdale on the week end and riding from their. I wont trust muskoka yet because of the lakes. But I will go collingwood way. Cant wait
doonut 01-07-2004, 03:36 PM I was in Muskoka all last week and on pine lake, I cut thru 8 inches of clear solid ice. The small lakes will be great after this week of cold but the main Muskoka lakes still have boating possibilities :(
vapourtrail 01-07-2004, 06:08 PM thanks tiggyboot :D i like the radar link the best even though i rarely understand them :dazed:
OntRider 01-07-2004, 10:45 PM Anybody know of a good place to park and access the trails in Wasaga Beach? I presume they got a good chunk of this snow as well.
