Has anyone had experience with a satellite phone like the one advertized on Snowtrax? Some of us at work were wondering about leasing one for the winter. Especially when heading up north.
I know around Apsley once you get a few miles away from Hwy. 28 where there is service, you may as well be talking to your shoe *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Actually I carried one once while grooming in Northern Ontario but never had the need to use it.
What kind of sat. phone is on the snowtrax cover? I've use a sat. phone last summer a couple of times and it works just like a cell phone but it sounds a bit more distorded, kinda like a 1970-80 phone. The only bad thing is that if you use a sat phone, there is a good bet that you're out of the pizza delivery zone *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
