Welcome to the sport I am sure you will love it, and as MXZOOoom said go to the Ski Doo Forum and ask anything you desire to know, people in here seem to be very helpful if at all possible.

My advice is to sell your Mach 1 and buy a machine that you can learn on that is not a rocket. Seems like alot of people get into trouble with little experience riding big displacement sleds. There is no shame starting with a 500cc sled for a couple of years and then moving up. Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to make your sledding experience enjoyable over the long trem.

Being that his Mach is a 90 I think it shouldn't be too fast for him, but if it was a newer one than yeah you got a point.

what makes this 583 any slower than an 98 mxz 583? if the motor is in good tune it'll be just as fast...or close

that sled will carve up the smooth trails, just watch out for the bumps...

I don't know if there is any difference between the two engines but I took it as Motoski saw the name Mach 1 and assumed it was a tripple like i would have at first. I have ridden a 583 and I don't think this is too much sled for a beginner, actually I would prolly recomend it.
