I have a 99 zrt 600 with 2800 miles on it, when I gun it , it feels like the track is slipping, but ive went through all of that, i pulled off the chaincase cover then
manually tightened the adjuster in all the way but I still have some movement
in the chain, should i have any slop in it at all? I have heard they do stretch out
is it time for a new chain? and how tight should it be?

I Just replaced the chain in my 99,,, over 4500 miles, but get this.. it had >>3<< cracked links  so i was VERY much due!! My gears were fine,, but if you have had slippage in the chain case or track drivers i would replace ALL worn componants,, also if the slipping was in the chain case there ought to be ALOT of shiny metal flakes in the oil and on the magnetic drain plug.... there should be zero chain case slop!!!!

If you don't want to remove the chaincase cover to check chain tension just loosen the jam nut on the adjuster bolt and tighten the adjuster bolt finger tight.
