I bought this sled as x-sno-cross and have no idea what is modified, it was in prostock class. 96 583 mxz. I have cleaned up alot of troubles so far, like clutching, but now it rages to 110 kph at 7800 rpm, then suddenly ups to 8100 and pulls still strong. Why? is the TRA primary needing help, or any ideas? Engages at 4600 and revs 7800 till 110 kph, then revs 8100. ????Thanks

What is the gearing in the sled? If it had short gears in it for SnoCross, you might be shifting out the clutches. Check the gears in the chaincase. Should be something like 25 top and 44 bottom. You can go to 24 top and still have plenty of top speed.

110kph is only like 70mph. I would think that is short even for SnoCross unless it was a really tight track like indoor or something like that.

sorry for the confusion, the sled goes to 8100 and KEEPS accelerating, it radared at 86mph, 140kph. Why does it go up to 8100 then keep charging ahead?? I am picky and like everything to be perfect.

I'm told the lower top gear increases top speed. The clutches shift out more. I just dropped mine but havent ridden yet because of low snow. That thing noses over at 7900 rpm. If you are 8100 you are losing power.
