I finally bought the Etrex Legend and the Roads and Recreation disc. I've played with the Gps the last couple days and got that all figured out, so now I'm in the process of loading much of Michigan from the R&R disc. The only problem is that when I go to download, I am prompted that all of the pre loaded Garmin maps will be deleted, what do I do at this point? The preloaded maps have all the town names plus some other info, so I don't want this deleted right? What am I doing wrong? Thanks Jason

Don't worry, the basemap will always be there. Each time you upload a map set it erases all th eother maps you have on it first. So to add 1 or 2 additional maps, you need to upload all of the ones you already have in it as well as the 2 new ones. Kind of a pain but that's how it works.

What did the R&R CD cost you??? Thinking about getting it too.

Just finished downloading it to the Gps, loaded all of the U.P. and most of the L.P. and it took about 6.5 mg.
It was the same price everywhere I looked-$99.00, when I asked if if ever went on sale, I was told by several places that if it goes on sale its because its the previous years model and that you wouldn't want that one anyways.

I will give it a try this weekend and see how it works, The only problem I see is that the area we are riding in has many lakes and rivers and that seems to clutter the screen and make it load slower. Hopefully this puts an end to those late nights where your running on E and your not quite sure which two track takes you back to the main road. :thumbsup:
