running 22/40 right now and it's an improvement over stock for top end, but is there a better gear to be running other than going back to stock?

Most guy's racing around here have tried EVERYTHING and have come back to stock gearing as they find it's the best?

Can't see where stock gears would work better for say 660' over.....say 20/39

Well, if you're racing for a specific distance then most any different gear will be better for what you want it to do vs. stock overall gearing. If you are only running 660' of course gearing down will help for that. From what I've heard though, stock gearing on those is the best "all around" combo.

I see you edited your post while I was typing.lol You're saying stock gearing does better in 660' vs. 20/39? Gear down more and clutch accordingly. It should be fairly easy to get it run better in 660' with a different combo other than stock if clutching is setup right.
