Good start warm clothing is the way to a happy wife. :D Get some Baffin boots Altimas are good, some good gloves or mitts and some snow pants Reima is a good brand and wears well. It will also keep her warm. Stop often to let her off the machine if she isnt used to riding and have warm up spots planned along the way. I have a cold wave jacket and ski doo x team pants. I prefer leather gloves to nylon or gortex. Also maybe buy a mans jacket. I have spent $500 bucks on a ladies jacket and I hate the way it fits, and the same with ladies pants, cant stand them. As long as she is warm she will be happy and so will you. Good luck and have fun

Has she been out before? If this is her first time, I'd wait on buying anything fancy. Last weekend, my wife wore her Columbia-type jacket, a pair of mittens, and snow pants. She borrowed my moms helmet. Now that I know she's into it, I don't mind buying her better pants, snowmobiling jacket, and helmet.

I hope your wife enjoys it. I'm looking forward to snowmobile trips in the future with mine!

My wife gets cold easy, so I got her a Reima-cross coat, Reima bibs and gloves from RU outside. She loves them, very warm and light stuff.

What ever you get her make sure that it will keep her warm. that is the number one trick. cuddel duds and wool socks are a must.

My GF doesn't like bibs becuase they are a pain to take off to go to the bathroom, she bought a pair of snowboarding pants they keep her warm without all the trouble, may be worth a thought.

Don't forget the underneath layers; polar fleece pants and pullover with a turtleneck underneath and thick thermal socks keeps me toasty and comfortable. :D

My wife loves her new silk long underwear. Very affordable through Cabelas.
I'm even thinking of getting a pair after listening to her rave about them.
The drop seat bibs are a huge plus.

Well I am partial to Reima clothing....I love the reima gortex coat and bibs.
I also wear therma underwear and be sure she has good boots!
Good idea to take along some of those "hot packs" for chilly days.

Oh....she will have fun with the clothes...be sure she matches the sled...tee heee

The clothes are the best part!

:D

keep her warm and u and her will be happy. one thing my mom uses are a set of boot warmers that plug into the machine. seems like the feet are always the first thing to get cold.

I wear coldwave and have been very happy with how warm it keeps me... When the thermometer drops below -30 I add top & bottom 'hot paws' longjohns. Personnaly i agree with WKinneIII bibs are a pain in the neck, my pants are coldwave snowcross, (only come in mens though) as for the coat I disagree with LadyK about fit for the coldwave, mine is a women's coat and it fits just right (small chested, not sure if that helps)... The only thing missing on the suit was that my snowx pants didn't have the velcro to stick to my coat, so I'm hoping to have that added so that my coat stays put under my but. Keep in mind, with everyone talking about socks not to over do it, socks which are too thick and tight in your boots will do more harm than good.

Have a GREAT RIDE!!! Let her know we're all rootin' for her :)

Remember, thin layers is what holds the heat, not thick layers. Should she over heat she can remove a thin layer without major heat loss. Long under wear should NEVER be cotton. Silk, Worsted wool mix, or Polytech for long underwear which keeps the sweat from the skin. One brand I like a lot is "Hot Chillis". I used them religousely on the slops to -60 F. My wife wears them and at 110 pounds, she has little to no meat on her so she freezes very easily. Buy your long underwear at a good ski shop and follow those washing instuctions VERY closely, other wise your 4 year old will be wearing them.
Riema, Cold Wave, Activa are very good brands. Look for tags expressing wind and waterproof. Snowboard pants will not be waterproof unless labeled. I know, I bought a pair myself and got soaked through in powder conditions. Bibs will always be your warmest, period.
Good price point clothing is "Choko" made in Canada, weather and wind proof. I have a hard time finding it here in Massachusetts so I buy it when ever I am in Canada.
Then be prepared for her to love the sport and want a GSX 600 HO SDI. hahaha

Reima or Klym, Make sure its women's it will fit her beter, and if she is warm, the more snowmobiling you will be able to do more. If money isnt a factor. Great quality.
