I just bought a 2000 Formula Z 700, its nice and clean only 5200 km and I am quite happy to be riding a Skidon't again.
Does anyone know of any things I should keep an eye on , or any problems that may happen, Thanks.

you are going to hear a rash of bad bottom end bearing responses but the 700s around here have been fantastic without any trouble. of course they are ridden by meticulous owners.

If it seems thrifty on oil, turn the pump up. Check the lower coolant hose where the pull start rope guide spring rubs.

Don't listen to a serial brand basher.
Make sure your oil pump is set properly and you'll be fine. If the pto crank bearing has been packed with isoflex (sp?) grease, even better. I know of three 2000 doo 700's and only one ever had crank problems. Since the rebuild, it's ran up about 10,000 miles without a hiccup.

I agree with zog 100 %. I don't agree with " if it seem thrifty on oil, turn the pump up", only because I think that is a mis-leading statement. set it correctly and check it annually.no reason to use more oil than needed.I have had 2 00 700's in the stall since new, neither of them has had crank trouble.I did not like the look of the rings in the stock piped sled, but it had good compression, rebuilt the topend anyway.replaced the stator with one from an 02 legend, almost a must after having done it.the heated hand and thumb warmers work better.my dealer sold 9 '00 700's and none have returned with crank trouble.just my experiance.
