Ridding in the mountains so i was doing a lot of switchin from standing on side to side and my boot lace clip caugh the seat and there is a little tear in the seat probably 1/4" by 1-4" V shaped. Wondering what the best way to fix it now is so i don't have problems later.

Not trying to be a smart ###, but get rid of any boots with metal hooks used to tighten the laces. They snag seats and scratch the crap out of your tunnel.

go to an (apolstry shop?) or some place that fixes leather coats the will put a patch on inside with glue. It will be hard to tell it was ripped after they are done.

I had the same rip in my seat and I found a vinyl repair kit at my local auto parts store they are made for car seats and come with a few different colors to allow mix and match. The kit I used had a mesh backing material, you install under the rip, mix the vinyl epoxy? to the correct color, apply over and under the rip, set a texture pattern (also supplied) over the area and iron till dry. they even give you the iron. This was done probably 1000 miles ago and is still holding up. I don't believe I paid more than twenty bucks.
GOOD LUCK

I used black rubber gasket maker on my small tear. I wasn't worried about appearance as much as I was about water getting in. It actually worked pretty good.

If you're looking for a temporary fix to get you through the season, try Shoe-Goo. That stuff is more handy than Duct Tape. For a permanent fix go with any of the above.

Metal Boot-lace clips + Snowmobile = No good.
