Hello,
My Mothers '96 Polaris 500 classic is doing some strange stuff.
Symptom is this. The sled starts, idles and has proper part throttle power but you can forget about mashing the hammer or it will bog. It does not seem like it is limited to one carb or the other and it is not back fireing. The plugs look fine but since it is just a part throttle sample it is hard to tell. We have not cleaned the carbs yet. The cleaning is scheduled for Saturday when I get some free time.
Got any ideas as what to look for? Also any service suggestions for the Polaris. I am used to working on Yamaha's and right off the bat this sled has the 34mm Mikuni Round Slides vs the Flat Slides I am used to.
Also it was working fine new years weekend.
Any help would be appreciated. I would rather not have to take it to a specialist.
