The pull cord on my MXZ is starting to stick and I have to pull it apart to grease it. My question is what kind of grease should I use. I know doo suggests a special grease and I can't remember what it is called. Do I have to use the doo grease or will something else work? Thanks!

i use a small amount of white lithium grease, the stuff for car door hinges. i would also use a stronger prewind on the rope than doo might say.

This past weekend a couple of guys at the hotel we were staying at had problems with their recoils not rewinding. Problem? Grease on spring stiffened and wouldn't allow rope to rewind in the extreme cold -15f. Good luck.

Yup...you deffinately need a grease that will work in extream cold conditions. Better to use the recommended grease even if it is a little more spendy.
