This sled always fires right up, last two weekends was giving me a hard hot restart, would need to crank a little with a little throttle given to fire up. I was thinking a poor temp sensor, but yesterday am hard to start again, crank and crank (electric start} then I yanked and yanked, she fires up but seems very boggy, let it warm up and the thing rips good, just restarts are difficult
any ideas?? of course i'm going to the u.p. this next week for a week!!

I am speculating here, but does this machine have "smart valves" as part of the fuel pick ups? ( I think they are part of the batteryless EFI system.)

I just received a "school of hard knocks" education on these things. In my case, they appear to have been frozen/stuck closed thus starving the machine for fuel.

As I understand it, these things act as check valves keeping fuel in the fuel rail when you shut the engine off. If they were stuck open, fuel could drain back into the tank. When starting the engine, the fuel pump would have to fill the rail before it would start.

I suppose it would also be possible to get some air in the rail when fuel drained back, thus creating the bogging you described.

This is only a guess, but it would be pretty simple to rule out.
