: F7/vforce3 Reeds?

I am really thinking about adding the vforce reeds to my firecat,,,, I have them on the vmax and they did make a difference on that one,,,,but I want to know if anyone is using them and what kind of difference they have seen. I have heard that there is no difference at all between stock and the vforce, and I have heard that the dyno says there is,,,,,, any one have experiance with these, please let me know.

No gains to be had on the Firecat, in fact on my riding bud's (when he tried them) it made his sled run strange and at times harder to start...........took em back off and all was well.

have them in a 03 7 and 04 7 definately a noticable difference and the dyno definately shows hp increase

dont do it,they do not work.
you would be better off putting a snopro,
intake in it. same results, and you save $330
they do not work on the 03's with EFI.
they might work on 04's with carb's.

On what Dyno? My budd's sled was dyno'd and showed ZERO GAIN, on trail performance confirmed the dyno results. An '04 carb may be a different story but for sure they don't work on the EFI's.

The reeds will show some improvement if other mods are done. Will
get better engine reponse ,bulls eye,sno-pro intake (or order one for
a 04 f-cat) ,key works ...but in some cause your 03 is set leaner in mid range
than the 04 .So order a apc fuel pressure regulator 300 CDN first and go from there .
your 03 is fatter in different ranges than the 04 and v.s verse applies to
04.Best of both world when you call Dan at 1-989732-4400 P.s get
Cape Breton Stock........just installed delta -3`s the other night and noticed
the differnce not hard to start 2nd pull.

the boyesen rad valves are supost to be better for the cats then the V- force , theymake better results on the dyno!

well as of right now, I have the bullseyes, the sno pro intake tube, and it is clutched out,,,,, I didnt know if the reeds would help since I am already pumping loads of air in there

01-21-2004, 09:32 PM
wha tthe heck is a snowpro intake??

01-22-2004, 01:29 AM
V-Force Reeds Seem to be alot of hype when it comes to installing them on an F7 EFI, Although if they were put on a Carbed F7 you might have noticeable gains, Other wise spend the money else where...

bulls eye intake actually let air out of the box, they make horsepower on a dyno because the sled in not moving foward so it allows more air in

In actual sled usage the air is rammed in to the box and builds a positive pressure, if you run bulls eye you would let the air out resulting in less hp

well I have bullseyes, and if I think its happening, I will be covering them up. lol,,,,,

as for the sno pro air intake,,,thats nothing more than the tube that channels the air into the airbox,,,,if you pull yours out, you will see that there isnt much of an opening to let the air come in,,,,but the sno pro intake is much bigger allowing more air to enter the airbox,,,,

01-23-2004, 11:02 AM
how much was the intake

01-23-2004, 07:34 PM
10$ through cat,,,,

01-25-2004, 03:56 AM
300 bucks for reeds that may or may not gain you 1 to 3 horses is a huge waste of money unless your racing for money!!! spend it on gas instead!!!!

01-25-2004, 10:52 AM
well with the lack of snow we have had this year, it would take me 10 years to spend 300$ worth of gas in the thing,,,,

funny, we are leaving tonight for the UP and by gosh it snowed about 4 inches yesterday, calling for 4 more today and another 4 tonight,,,,, why couldnt this have happended last week????

have a good ride!!

ArTeeCat - F7s have been dynoed with the still air and a 60mph wind over the hood, the horsepower was the same. I don't think the bullseyes suck air out.

I wouldn't buy Vforces. I have them on my F7 and it is harder to start than our other two F7s.

I raced my brother to 100mph on our F7 sno pros. His is stock with 102 studs and he weighs 110 pounds. Mine has a D&D clutch kit, bullseyes, V-Force reeds, 153 studs, I weigh 145 pounds. My sled pulls out of the hole, then they are dead even to 100mph. So, I usually beat him by 3/4 of a sled length.
