Any mountain riders using a 18/40 19/40 or 20/40 gear ratio on you 700's? I am looking at gearing it down from 22/40, the specs say 21/40 for above 9000feet but I dont have the jam I need to play on the hills in the wet stuff so i was looking at gearing it even lower.

my brother has an 01 mm700 and he switched to about a 19/40 I think he likes it there for the low end but he just done some work on the clutches to get more track speed so he might gear it back up. but it will climb with the 800s no problem the way it is now. you will just have to try something and see how you like it.

i got a mm700 with a 21-40 gear ratio and it will stick with any 800 and some 900's so i like it
