How does an '04 600HO (in my case Adrenaline) compare speed wise to an older MXZ700? Low, mid, top end? Both stock.

it is a good race.giving the win to the rev but not the zx on the stock piped sled.the zx 600 ho was right there with my 700. both the ho's I raced were 03's

I have a 04 mxzx600 ho and my friend has a 02 mxz 700, from 0 to 60 were side by side then about 60 to 100 hes about 2 feet ahead of me then on top end he has abot 2 mph more than me it feels like he has more topend pull but not by much, he has a fresh rebuild with 400 miles on it and boyeseen reeds and a dyno port silencer, i have 1000 miles on my 600 ho and it all stock but the dyno port silencer. but for the most part there is no diffrence unless your running the clock.

I would bet that if you put your stock silencer back on, he would not be more then 2 miles an hour faster. Silencers might make a sled quicker, but they seem to rob top end speed.
Otherwise, the ZX 700 does make more power, especially on the low and mid range IMO, but it is heavier then a REV chassis. I think the lightness of the chassis makes up for the lower horsepower in the 600 HO, making them pretty even. (power to weight) Maybe thats why SD has all but discontinued the 700 motor? I don't know for sure, but the 700 was a sweet motor, and to have that in a REV chassis would be sweet!
More guessing here, but maybe SD discontinued the 700 motor, leaving us only a 600 or 800 option, to boost sales of the 600, to justify the H.O. designation?

A lot depends on the rider too, when I race my brother on his 03 600 H.O with my 02 700, I always win. I then jump on his sled while he rides mine and then I beat him again riding his 600 H.O.. When your that close in H.P., rider is high in the equation.

And just for fun

Even though I know I would lose, how would my studded 02 ZR600 do?

110 horsepower/485 pound dry weight

I imagine Doo has eliminated the 700 as it's no longer required if your 600 makes basically the same power with better fuel economy. Heard lotsa gripping about 700's taking out crank bearings.

I agree,no reason to build a 700 if the 600 ho runs as good.I too have heard about crank bearing trouble with the 700.key word is "heard" .I have a couple of 700's here in the shop.not looking down when I was on the piped sled (blacky) the other day while doing a lil test and tune in the field,I know the yellow one has 4000+ miles and no crank bearing problems to date on either.my dealer sold many 700's and not one crank failure, again to date.

My wifes 03 600ho Rev just kills my 02 MXZ 700. A few weeks back we raced across a lake,it was pretty even until after 70MPH,the 600 pulled away from me as if I was on a 500. My sled just doesn't seem to have the top end it used to. Its time to pull the RAVE valves, haven't touched them in 2400 miles

Must be something funny with my 01 MXZ 700. One of my buddies has an 03 REV 600HO and another has the 04 GSX 600 HO and I walk by both of them. I have 144 studs and they both have 96, they both take me out of the hole but as soon as my track stops spinning (30-40mph) I just start catching them and walk right on past and never look back. We tried these races many times with driver swaps on two different weekends.

My brother in law has an 01 700 i have an 03 rev 600 ho with a .25" track. I can pull him to about 85 then he creeps by me all the way to top end. We have done this numerous times always the same result!

I have raced a few of them. For a while ( about 500') I didn't think I could catch them. the gade gets a good hole shot and accelorates quickly to about 500'. In 1200 feet i get them by about 4 sleds. If my 02 700 was stock I thing the ho would win.
