I've had my Doo Snow X helmet for two weeks now and I'll never go back to a shield. What sold me on it was my drive home last night. I rode a total of 200 KM,s yesterday. During the day it was -20 celsius and -30 on the 100 km ride home last night. I was as warm as I would have been in my old full face helmet but the amazing thing was that I could SEE for the whole ride. Boy was it nice not to have to stop at every warm up hut just to unfog my shield. I also bought a new pro x balaclava from royal that works great. It has a membrane sewn in between it that stops the wind.

What goggles are you using, i have the oakley A frames with kbc helmet, but find it hard to make a good seal, the wind seems to get its way through.

I use a pair of Gordini ski goggles. I cut out some plastic strips to block two places where I was getting air and now they work great. My helmet also has a breath deflector that helps a lot. The balaclava I bought also works well, I just make sure that it is pulled down inside the goggles.

I agree charlo, I bought a new full face helmet this year and my first ride out if frosted over :cussing: . So this weekend I grabbed my moto-x helmet that I wear on my ATV, a good pair of ski goggles and a couple good balclava's and even with it being this cold I was nice and warm and COULD see  .

I use the same kind of goggles, mine are tinted and I also have a pair of clear Scott ATV ones for night riding. With mine being a summer helmet I dont have a breath deflector so need a balclava that goes up around my nose and mouth and after a while they'll freeze up. I've found that those red things that you put over hardhats in the cold work great. very important to get the balclave inside the goggles or you'l get pretty cold on top of the forehead.

I bought the KBC rough rider this year that is sno x style but converts to heated full face in about 30 seconds. I prefer sno x style but I keep my full face visor and cord in my trunk just in case it gets too cold. For goggles I just use the MSR world tour goggles that came with the helmet from Royal, along with a thin balaclava and I have never been cold at all this year.

Thats why i love my helmet. When riding the other day and there was like a foot of powder and i got a couple good face fulls of snow. With my old helmet i would have gotten half of it in my helmet because it was always cracked open. With my new helmet i just knock it off my goggles and keep on going.
