there is a spot where i like to ride just when the sun has gone down to look at the deer in the fields. i went there last night and i seen either 3 wolves or coyotes in a triangle formation with a deer in the middle of their formation. at first i thought it was a bigger deer with three smaller ones as it was dark and getting hard to see without light. as always i put my light on the pack and could see there was a deer in distress so i gassed on over towards the group to chase the big dogs away. the deer seemed to know what i was up to or was too scared to move at first but the predators all leaped together back in the bush and then the deer went on his way into a open field.

You realize you have probably just altered the future for all of us :p :D

those wolves have to go home and explain to their wives and pups why there is no dinner. :( shame on you paul :cussing:

Deer are over populated as it is, you should have let nature take it's course.

You should know better than to mess with mother natures way of natural selection.

no it just loped away slowly into the field where there were 2 other deer. i'll see tonight because after being there so often i am getting to recognize the herds.

Seriously,the wolves/coyotes were only doing what is natural to them,they needed that meal, :cussing: they don't do that sorta thing for fun they do it for survival

Chasing animals with a sled is wrong be it chasing rabbitts/deer Moose or even preditors

They do not have the luxury of going to the store and picking up food

Wouldn't that be nice if some greenie was in the bush watching and caught Paul chasing the wolves with his sled :cussing:

think about this though; how many have had a chance to scare off predators ? so it was a real rush for me.

Deer is not the problem, it those damn Canadian Geese that drop 3 lbs. of manure a day per bird all over the sidewalks, lawns, cars, trucks...you get the picture. Next time Paul, drop some corn in the same field to attract some geese.

something that people always get wrong is calling a canada geese a canadian goose. anyways that is a cornfield and until the deep snow there were flock after flock of canada geese landing there.

There is not an overabundance of deer in southern Ont. Not that those coyotes won't find something else to eat.

I really don't think Pauls little encounter is going to make much of a difference, but I'm sure it was a neat experience, that I would like to have the opportunity to enjoy also.

speaking of deer, i was out riding tonight and came across two crossing a road...they didn't freeze in my headlight, just proceeded to slowly cross....i had to stop and everything to wait for them... :cussing: even had to shake the fist a bit to get them moving!!

I think I would have watched the kill. You will probably never see something like that again real life. Would have been very interesting. Then once the deer is down chase them away and take the deer. :p

Paul, as good as it feels, wolves are burping it up as we speak. One of the best tracker's in north america.....

i would have done the same thing paul...my friend shot 2 dogs which he assumes where wild sense they were miles and miles away from any houses. the dogs were chassin a deer through the woods while he was deer hunting. he didnt get the deer but he got the dogs.
