During the last two days snowstorms, I have been looking at the way people in general drive in the snow. Its funny how some people in high dollar SUV's can't seem to find the 4wd button and putz along at 50kph in the left lane with their 4way flashers on. The morons in lowered rice burners that think they can still do 130kph in 6 inches of snow only to find the ditch or the guard rail.. Then theres the folks pulling sled trailers at the speed limit not really seeming to notice the bad weather. So I started to wonder if good drivers take up sledding or sledders become good drivers in winter due to the fact that most of us trailer somewhere every weekend. What do you think?

I have to say yes on this one. Becuase snowmobilers are use to the slippery conditions and know how to react quickly.

definately. but it depends. I grew up on a sled and i think it helped a lot. If you can't drive a sled then i guess the same goes with a car. bottom line is your a sucky driver period. and deal with it. people who know how to ride definatly see benefits driving a car

I think it definitely helps, but if you drive like an idiot on the trails, chances are you do it on the road, too.

i live in the u.p, and sugarbeaters(no offence to the downstaters) do way under the speed limit if there is snow on the ground up here, or it is snowing. i know that you guys arent as used to it, but it pisses me off when i have to be at school, and im stuck behind them going 30mph down the highway, and they are kicking up too much snow dust to pass them.

I voted yes, but if i could do it again i'd vote some of us....
most sledders i think are more aware of their surroundings, and understand how easy it is to crash and lose control...and most importantly, know their limits...people say crashes are caused by weather conditions...thats a load in most cases, too much speed for the conditions is almost ALWAYS the cause of crashes....

so you'd rather people drive faster than they think is safe so you can be at school on time? leave earlier....if you're that good of a driver in the winter that you are able to tailgate people and complain about how slow they're going, then you should have no problem passing them at all...

Some people can drive, some can ride a sled, but there are some that will just never get it, unfortunately.

I said some of us. I think personally, it depends on if you was brought up around motor driven vehicles. By this I mean, sleds, go karts, cycles, and even riding lawn mowers. When you have the chance to learn good steering habits, how to react to different circumstances, and just around around being in control, it helps not matter what vehicle your on. I've notice people that grew up not around motors have it harder to react to different conditions.

Well I spend allot of time on the road for work driving from place to place. It depends on the driver. I've seen some that drive great and some that drive like idiots, so I voted sometimes. I've also seen people trying to tow a 8ft wide hallmark 4 place trailer going 65 mph in a blizzard with a trailblazer so there plenty of idiots out there. Drive safe and have fun snowmobiling.

you see it on the news after every storm !!! Some IDIOT who bought a 4x4 and he gets stuck trying to cross a 4' snow bank as if he was taking a walk in the park.

if my gout wasn't bothering my left ankle so badly today i would have stood up on my left foot so that i could have booted a rider off his sled with my right foot. i was riding along where the trail follows the ditch and there was a groomer coming my way so i idled up on the shoulder to let the groomer by and a bonehead {bright red face purple nose guy} on a sled came from across the road right in front of me till he noticed the groomer. then turned back across in front of me to pass on my right going the opposite way, good thing i was respecting the conditons around me or there could have been a collision. the groomer driver stopped {nice guy} to say the reckless sledder was a _ _ _ _ and that he wishes he could run guys like that over.

so no i think not all are better in a car because the sled.

I voted in the "Some" category. Some people are just stupid when they drive anything...lack of common sense.
