My 93 wildcat 700 efi has less than 500 miles on it since the previous owner had rebuilt cylinders<new pistons, and rings. He forgot to tighten the throttle body clamps and it ran lean. It tried seizing about a week ago. I comp tested and it was 115 same as other. Today it broke that piston. Can I just hone the cylinder and put in new piston and rings or wont it last? Also whats the cheapest way to rebuild? (layed off now) thanks

:( , when it coms to snowmobile engines, there is no cheapest way out, ya have to do it rite or 2-3 rides and she'll be blown up again, best thing to do is remove both cly., pistons have them measured, its the only way to know what is good or what is bad, as far as the broken piston, did it take out the clyinder too, deep gouges in clyinder walls? etc.. at this point remove the engine split the case and remove the debris from the case, insp the bearings and crank, have it also measured for run out, replace the crank seals, insp the throttle body boots for cracks, air leaks there, and before you put the engine back in have it pressure tested to ensure that there are no air leaks in the engine, if you can do any of this work your self ,you'll save tons of money, but its pretty much the way ya gotta do it, for good reliabilty and preformence
