Please advise.
My 91 Polaris Indy seems to run well.
I can go out and trail ride for an hour at a fairly easy pace and have no problems.
If I take it wide open for a few passes of the field she over heats and and I get coolant spraying out of the rad cap.
Any advise.

your waterpump might be broke or the belt is broke or slipping or you have a air pocket in the heat exchangers
raise the front of your sled all far as you can and run sled to get air from rear ht. exc. nd refill coolant
hope this helps

Check everything as mentioned above.
Make sure that the rad cap is sealing tight on the bottle.
Possibly need a new rad cap.
Check the water pump belt behind the recoil.

Another possibility is the head gasket (or O-rings) are bad, and combustion pressure is leaking into the coolant passages. Does the coolant have what looks like a film of oil on it? Drain some in a clean pan, and look. If it does the gasket is bad. I would try bleeding the cooling system again, and making sure you get all the air out.

This all great advice thanks...
Can anyone tell me basically how I bleed the coolant system.
When I look at the clear hose going to the overflow there is wide gaps of air in the line..
By the sounds of things this might be my first point to go after.

BLEEDING IS VERY BASIC- GET SLED ON A SNOW BANK WITH FRONT PROPPED UP-RUN THE SLED TILL IT GETS WARM-SHUT DOWN-CAREFULLY RELEASING CAP-TOP UP OVERFLOW BOTTLE-KEEP DOING THIS 10-20 MINS-FEELING ALL EXCHANGERS TO MAKE SURE COLLANT IS FLOWING THRU HOSES-YOU CAN SQUEEZE ALL HOSES TOO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO AIR BUBBLES IN THEM-DO THIS UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL REMAINS THE SAME

That's the best method of fixing a problem I've heard yet. :p :p
