Are you using a thin oil like Synthetic AMS Oil. I think this could cause that. You will need to adjust the oil pump. I'm not to sure how to do that. I'm sure someone here could tell you how.

check to see if your pump arm is sticking.I have seen a couple doo that.

Unless you know how to check it yourself, get a dealer to check your oil pump setting.

agreed ,in 00 we called doo a few times before setting any of the 00 700's up to verify the correct pump setting,as it is confusing on the 00.and IMHO I think that led to most of the bearing failures out there,as we had 0 bearing failures on the 00 700's still to this date ,and the dealer sold many of them.

How do you check the setting that the oil pump is on? I would like to know if mine has been adjusted.

Also, how many miles, on average, do you get with a full tank of gas on your '00 700?

I wish that were the case. I'm on my third crank now, and have been burning LOTS of oil -- more than 50:1

Check your oil consumption in relation to your fuel consumption -- that's the only accurate way to see if you're burning enough oil -- go for 50:1 or even more if you ride hard.

To increase the oil flow, simply shorten the cable on the oil pump (it's a little easier if you remove the carbs to see what you're working on).

Contrary to popular belief, you won't foul plugs by using lots of oil IF your jetting is close (and you ride hard enough).
