Why is it the night before I am going for a ride I load the sleds onto the trailor park it in the garage? Oh yeh its must that I cant just wait. What do you guys do the night before the ride? Man let me tell you this.... it sure feels great loving a sport this much!

I am ready are you?

Since I usually start my ride right from my garage door, i usually just top off the fuel/oil, check coolant, etc, and then put the sled up on the stand for the night. The farthest i have hauled for a ride was 22 miles to my buddies house because of low snow conditions and we went riding on the lakes in the provincial forest!

What did polaris do differently on the 1993 XLT specials? I owned a 1995 special and it had the x-tra 12. Did they do that on the 1993's?

No, RMK, unfortunately, the 93 didn't get blessed with the X-12 Suspension. It still had the 6 or 8 or what ever it was, but with foxx shox. That is why mines for sale, I am a big guy, and the suspensions not great for me, and I don't even jump it, i would hate to know what its like to jump the thing!

rmkman,

We do the same, we load them up the night before haul them up to the gas station fill'em up then take them back home load up the rest of our stuff load it.
Go to bed then leave in the morning. I get very anxious before a trip

After the obvious fluid checks/safety/function tests, what else

Well - Buffing and shinning!

I use a hood spray that make the white look pristine on my xcr, soap and water on the tunnel and bulkhead - then armoral (sp) on the bulkhead, and other odds and ends.

Grease suspention fittings and bearings every 300-400 miles then wipe off exess grease from fittings (I hate it when people leave blobs of grease at the fittings, Especially when you try to tune thier suspention and it wipes off on your gloves!!!!!!)

I usually polish the stainless heat sheilds on the pipes every 400-500 miles.

I use an engine degreaser in the cowl for the ultra clean shine.

I'm not just crazy about looks - some say I'm completely MAD.

Glad to see I am not the only one who is overly anxious.
And madsledhead I think I have the same disease as you do with overly cleaning/ polishing. Its not a bad thing, I dont think!

Man if my wife read this she'd think she married the wrong person. She makes lists for everything  but I am the most unorganized person in the world :p amazing we ever made it this far. But she is great :inlove:
